Moore to stage:
Filmmaker and activist Michael Moore is taking his tough, anti-Donald Trump talk to Broadway. The Academy Award-winning director of “Bowling for Columbine” will perform the one-man show “The Terms of My Surrender” at the Belasco Theatre starting July 28 for 12 weeks.
“Ship” stalled:
TNT has temporarily shut down production of its drama “The Last Ship” while star Eric Dane battles depression. Variety reports the series is going on production hiatus through Memorial Day. “The Last Ship” is set to return for a fourth season this summer. Dane plays Tom Chandler, the captain of a U.S. Navy destroyer at sea after a catastrophe wiped out most of the world’s population.
Daytime honors:
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” won the Daytime Emmy Award for best entertainment talk show Sunday, 20 years to the day that her character came out as gay on the sitcom “Ellen.” “General Hospital” was honored as best daytime drama, with top acting awards going to Scott Clifton for “The Bold and the Beautiful” and Gina Tognoni for “The Young and the Restless.” Steve Harvey was a double winner as best game show host for “Family Feud” and best host of an informative talk show for “Steve Harvey.” “Good Morning America” won the best morning program trophy.
