Two blowouts in district openers
The district 15-7A baseball tournament kicked off on Monday with a pair of ten-point blowouts.
No. 1-ranked Pines Charter beat Boyd Anderson by a score of 12-2, while South Broward bested Northeast, 13-3.
Pines Charter’s Julian Barcelo went 2-4 with two RBIs, while Eric Hernandez had a 3-3 day with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Antonio Peetoon went three innings with five strikeouts to get the win.
South Broward cruised past North East 13-3. Winning pitcher Noah Chang had five strikeouts through four innings and Salvatore Zaremba was 2-2 with four RBIs, while Riley Rosario was 3-4 with three RBIs and a double.
