Tip leads to man’s child porn arrest

- By Tonya Alanez Staff writer

The suspect grew nervous and agitated when investigators asked about child pornography. He quickly admitted to downloading “bad pictures of boys” and participating in obscene online chats with minors — and begged forgiveness, police said.

Alberto Jose Blanco, 45, was booked into the Broward Main Jail on Wednesday after surrendering to authorities at the Pembroke Pines police station, according to an arrest report.

Blanco’s electronic tablet and cellphone contained hundreds of explicit images of young boys, the report said.

During the April 26 visit to the home Blanco shares with his mother, Blanco told investigators “he surrounds himself with children but denied ever acting inappropriately towards them.”

His mother concurred, telling police her son “normally surrounds himself with young children because he does not fit in with adults,” the report said.

Police went to Blanco’s home after Google reported that it had detected child pornography images on a user’s Google Plus account connected to an IP address at the residence in the 13400 block of Southwest Ninth Court, Pembroke Pines.

Investigators urge members of the public to come forward if they recognize Blanco or know of any inappropriate contact.
