Suspect at large after shooting, dumping girlfriend at hospital

A man shot his girlfriend at an Oakland Park hotel, kidnapped her and then delivered her to a hospital emergency room in critical condition, authoritie­s said.

Janelle Jesuca, 36, of Plantation, has remained hospitaliz­ed since the May 8 attack; the suspect has so far eluded authoritie­s.

Bruce Leroy Williams, 34, of Deerfield Beach, is wanted on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, Broward Sheriff’s deputies announced Monday.

Also known as “Pig,” Williams is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He may be driving a 2016 silver Hyundai Tucson SUV with Illinois tag R364796.

The violence broke out shortly after 12:30 p.m. May 8 when shots were fired at the University Palms Hotel, 4900 Powerline Road, authoritie­s said.

“Williams shot his girlfriend and then kidnapped her,” said Joy Oglesby, a spokeswoma­n for the Broward Sheriff’s Office. “He dropped the victim off outside the emergency room entrance of a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.”
