Modern Greek comes to Boca Raton

The owners of this Mediterranean restaurant, founded in 2012 in Baltimore, have opened a second location in the former Jazziz Nightlife at the south end of Mizner Park.
“Boca is a booming community and becoming a destination for world-class dining,” founder Alexander Smith says. “We loved the growth potential and felt our concept of modern Greek would fit in well. We are incorporating a lot of wildcaught local fish.”
Octopus with red-wine caper vinaigrette ($12, $24), lamb chops with rosemary-balsamic reduction ($28, $52,) and whole branzino ($29) are charcoalgrilled. Florida grouper ($34) and local red snapper ($29) are exclusive to this location.
Greek desserts include baklava and galaktoboureko (both $9). Cocktails include the Phanes Poison with citron vodka, basil and lime and Alexander’s Conquest with bourbon, apricot, citrus and ginger (both $12).
Blue LED lighting outlines the narrow patio with an indoor-outdoor bar and lengthy water fountain. Inside, basketlike hanging lights form an illusion of movemen. A cigar lounge is a hideaway in the back.
Lunch and dinner are served daily. Brunch is served Sunday. A DJ spins Wednesday through Saturday.
