Heat will pick 14th in the NBA draft on June 22.

MIAMI — Tuesday did not deliver a lottery leap for the Miami Heat, just the expected reality of the No. 14 selection in June 22 NBA draft.

Facing overwhelming odds against a move to the top of the draft in the league’s random-but-weighted annual drawing for non-playoff teams, the Heat exited the draft lottery in New York the same way they entered, failing to make a move from the No. 14 seed.

As a result, barring an unexpected trade, instead of choosing among the likes of Washington point guard Markelle Fultz, UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball or Kansas forward Josh Jackson at the top of the process, the Heat will be left to select from the middle of the first-round pack, where the options could include Indiana forward OG Anunoby, North Carolina forward Justin Jackson and Wake Forest forward John Collins, among others.

The thrust of the Heat offseason now is expected to be addressed after the draft, with James Johnson, Dion Waiters and several others from last season’s roster part of the free-agency landscape.

The Boston Celtics, who acquired the pick from Brooklyn Nets, entered the lottery seeded No. 1 and left with the No. 1 pick.

Between that pick and the Heat closing out the lottery selections at No. 14, the order of the picks went: No. 2, Los Angeles Lakers; No. 3, Philadelphia 76ers; No. 4, Phoenix Suns; No. 5, Sacramento Kings; No. 6, Orlando Magic; No. 7, Minnesota Timberwolves; No. 8, New York Knicks; No. 9,
