Why not praise Trump?

- Robert Berg, Boynton Beach Jerry Bradley, Boca Raton

Whether you are for Trump or against, it amazes me that the liberal/ progressive media — both network and cable — are still doing “breaking news” on former FBI director James Comey, Russia and unnamed sources that The New York Times and Washington Post are using to denigrate Trump, especially on the eve of the the most historic foreign presidential visit in our lifetime. Wouldn’t you think the president could receive some support for this historic event?

In the days Trump has been president, I have not heard one positive comment, not one, from the biased press. Give the man a break! ago, my father told me that Jamaica was turning communist after a change in government occurred. I told my dad that it wouldn’t happen, at least not in the near term for one good reason; they still maintained a free press. You cannot have a dictatorship and a free press at the same time.

Now, look at our present situation. We found out a week ago that the Trump administration was informed of a contact between Michael Flynn and a Russian agent that could put our government in a bad situation. After doing nothing for 18 days, the newspapers reported the incident and Flynn was fired. Had this not occurred, Flynn would likely still be our national security adviser.

This is one small example of how the media tells us what is going on when the government does not. With that in mind now, who wants to change that relationship? Put me down as a definite no. Even when they mess up on occasion, we need to all be incredibly thankful for their contributions to our society.
