A private jet once owned by Elvis Presley is set to be auctioned after sitting on a runway in New Mexico for 30 years. Elvis designed the interior that has red velvet seats and red shag carpet. But the red 1962 Lockheed Jetstar has no engines and needs a restoratio­n of its cockpit. GWS Auctions Inc. says the plane will be auctioned May 27. It estimates the plane’s value at $2 million to $3.5 million.

Designer honors: The fashion industry is honoring feminist icon Gloria Steinem and Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards at its annual awards ceremony. The two women will join actress-singer Janelle Monae in receiving a special tribute from the board of directors of the Council of Fashion Designers of America on June 5, organizers announced Monday. Here comes the bride: After helping Disney’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast” spin box-office gold, director Bill Condon has been tapped to breathe new life into “Bride of Frankenste­in.” Universal Pictures said Monday that Condon’s remake will hit theaters in February 2019, making it the second film in its newly coined “Dark Universe” series that includes “The Mummy” reboot opening June 9. Future films include “The Invisible Man,” with Johnny Depp.
