Safety should come before convenience

-

Gun safety at the airport is an issue that can be fixed. Instate a policy that any gun transported by air must be picked up at a location outside of the airport terminal. This location could be a building located by the airport’s exit or a building off airport grounds. Too bad if the carrier (passenger) is inconvenienced.

Sending up red flags when a gun-toting traveler buys a one-way ticket is useless, since the traveler could buy a round-trip ticket to avoid further scrutiny. In addition, a fellow terrorist meeting the traveler could bring guns and ammunition into the terminal. Remember, only passengers go through the Xray process. Let’s think about what we are trying to do and then come up with real solutions. Jerry Bloch, Boynton Beach
