Forty employers with more than 2,400 jobs available are prepared to meet and interview applicants at a job fair Thursday in Sunrise.

The Job News USA job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the BB&T Center, One Panther Parkway, Sunrise. Parking is free.

Employers include the Miami Dolphins, Carnival Cruise Line, online pet retailer Chewy, grocery store chain Aldi, Sawgrass Mills Mall, the Florida Panthers, Hotwire Communications, City Furniture, and customer support company Global Response.

Many of the jobs involve customer service. Chewy is looking to hire 300 customer service representatives for a new customer service center in Hollywood. Sawgrass Mills will be doing spot interviews for concierges for its VIP lounge. Global Reponse is looking to hire 250 customer service representatives, as well as human resources and workforce analysts, for its center in Margate. Others include accountants, store managers, commercial-licensed drivers and equipment operators, digital marketing manager, pharmaceutical representatives, dental assistants, auto damage adjusters, reservation agents and sales associates.

Tiffany Price, senior project manager for Job News USA, said job seekers should consider the job fair as an opportunity to snag as many as 30 interviews in one setting, if they prepare properly.

She suggested that applicants research the participating companies they’re interested in and arrive at the fair with resumes tailored to those companies. Be prepared with a “clear career focus” and an “elevator speech,” a short summary of your experience and goals. Have a few questions prepared for each employer, Price said.

Dress professionally, and arrange for child care during the event, she advised.
