Tammy Wynette’s former home lists at $7M
Situated inside Jupiter Inlet Colony sits a beach home dubbed “Shorebreak” — the six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom estate once owned by country music legend Tammy Wynette.
Known to many as the “First Lady of Country Music,” Wynette’s signature song, “Stand by Your Man,” is one of the best-selling hit singles by a woman in the history of country music.
The mansion, located at 241 Ocean Drive, was originally built in 1972. Wynette owned it from 1976 to 1981.
She died in 1998 in Nashville a month before her 56th birthday. Three days after her death, fans and the music industry saluted her in a worldwide televised memorial service from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. She was quickly elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The estate recently underwent $500,000 in renovations, which included expanding the driveway, painting and landscaping the home, resurfacing the pool area and creating a grand entrance way to the home.
Interior features include a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a large island and oversized tile flooring, as well as a spacious living room with sliding glass doors that lead to the screened-in patio located in the center of the home. This is where the saltwater pool and lounge area are located.
“From the rear patio, residents can enjoy the cool ocean breezes and unparalleled views and have immediate access to activities such as fishing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, boating and much more,” said Jim Kirvin, CEO of Platinum Properties, who is serving as the listing agent for the property.
The 5,230-square-foot beach abode is situated on a lushly landscaped half-acre lot.
Property records show the home last sold for $900,000 in 1994. Over the past four years, the home has been listed on and off again with other agents.
Kirvin put the home back on the market last Friday with an asking price of $7 million.
