SOUTH FLORIDA OFFSHORE Capt. Skip Dana of the Helen S and Fish City Pride drift boats at Hillsboro Inlet Marina said to expect a good dolphin bite over the weekend. Anglers on the Fish City Pride caught about 20 dolphin 4-8 pounds Wednesday afternoon fishing along a big edge with weeds and birds in 400 feet. Capt. Chris Lemieux of Boynton Beach said dolphin were biting in 600-1,000 feet and blackfin tunas were biting live bait in 180-220 feet. Tim Davis of Gladesman Outfitters said he did good on mutton and mangrove snappers anchoring in 60-90 feet out of Hillsboro Inlet, chumming heavily and using dead sardines and live pilchards. THE KEYS Richard Stanczyk of Bud N’ Mary’s Marina in Islamorada said lots of schoolie dolphin have been caught, along with the occasional slammer up to 46 pounds. Blackfin tunas were plentiful at the humps. Fishing was good for yellowtail snappers on the reefs. SOUTH FLORIDA INSHORE Capt. Chris Lemieux said snook were biting in the Intracoast­al Waterway in Boynton Beach. Some big tarpon, snook, a few sea trout and mangrove snappers were biting in Florida Bay. EVERGLADES/FRESHWATER Bass were biting in the canals along Alligator Alley by mile marker 41, with shaky head jigs working around the bridges. Big bass have been caught using soft-plastic topwater lures in the flats at Loxahatche­e National Wildlife Refuge. LAKE OKEECHOBEE There’s been a good bass bite using topwater lures, swim jigs and spinnerbai­ts off any of the channels. Kings Bar has been a productive area at the north end. OUTDOORS NOTEBOOK

The Anglin’s Pier Underwater Clean-up is 8-9:30 a.m. June 24 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Local sponsor Gold Coast Scuba is offering volunteer divers a free T-shirt, a free air fill and a free barbecue following the dive at the Surf & Yacht Club on El Mar Drive. In addition to beach divers, who must bring a pair of sea snips and gloves, non-diving volunteers are needed to haul buckets containing fishing line and other debris collected by the divers onto the pier.
