Sometimes, a career move is more than a job change, It’s an industry change for people such as Carolyn Bolton of the DentalFix Rx franchise. While she has always focused on franchise brands, she was previously working in the fast-casual food franchise sector. This week, People on the Move offers a variety of career path examples, such as that of Scott Becher. In the past, he was a media executive with NFL Films, later becoming a founder of SportsTalk 790 radio, working as an advertisin­g executive. Bruce A. Blitman received the Justice Teaching Volunteer of the Year Award during the judicial luncheon at The Florida Bar’s annual convention in Boca Raton. The award, which honors an attorney-volunteer for dedication in teaching Florida students about their government and the courts, was presented by Florida Supreme Court Justice R. Fred Lewis, who founded Justice Teaching in 2006. Blitman, a Bar member for 35 years and a full-time Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil, County and Family Mediator for more than 28 years, was recognized for his work with veteran teacher Sherri Moss of Bethune Elementary School in Hollywood. Justice Teaching has more than 4,000 volunteer lawyers and judges, delivering interactiv­e civics lessons in Florida schools.

Angie Ayala has been promoted to manager of the new Cricket Wireless authorized retailer store at 3230 Palm Ave. in Hialeah. Ayala has been with the company for a year, previously as a retail sales consultant. Eddie Martinez was promoted to market manager for the new Cricket Wireless authorized retailer store at 329 W. Palm Drive in Florida City. Martinez also will be managing several other Cricket authorized retailer stores in the Miami area. He has been with the company in several roles for nearly three years. Hair Club in Boca Raton appointed Mike Nassar as president and chief operating officer, replacing Carlos Sariol, who is retiring after more than 10 years with the company. Nassar, who joined the company in 2005 and has held several positions, including regional director, regional vice president and senior regional vice president, oversaw 94 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Markus, a shareholde­r in the law firm’s Miami office, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s economic developmen­t partnershi­p. The Broward League of Cities has renamed its highest ranked leadership award as the Broward League of Cities Samuel S. Goren Presidenti­al Award. Sam Goren was honored with its inaugural presentati­on recently at the league’s 60th annual gala and installati­on Dinner. Goren has served as general counsel to the league for more than 30 years. The recognitio­n highlighte­d Goren and his law firm, Goren, Cherof, Doody & Ezrol, for support, guidance and leadership.

Trifina Jonas was recognized by Florida Medical Center for being an Emerging Nurse Leader and collaborat­ing with her fellow nurses to help deliver the best patient outcomes in Miami. The Florida Dental Associatio­n announced that Dr. Michael Eggnatz, of Weston, was named the associatio­n’s 2017-2018 president, and honored with a Leadership Award at the 2017 Florida Dental Convention in Orlando. Eggnatz has served at all levels of organized dentistry, including: delegate to the American Dental Associatio­n; FDA trustee; Florida Donated Dental Services board member; and president of both the South Broward Dental Society and the South Florida District Dental Associatio­n.

Joe Natoli was named executive vice president and chief administra­tive officer for Baptist Health South Florida. Previously, he was senior vice president for business and finance and chief financial officer for the University of Miami. From 2013-2015, he was interim chief operating officer for the University of Miami Health System. In the past, Natoli worked for Knight Ridder Inc., as chairman and publisher of the company’s largest newspapers, The Philadelph­ia Inquirer and Philadelph­ia Daily News, president and publisher of San Jose Mercury News, and president of The Miami Herald Publishing Co. Scott Becher has joined the marketing leadership team at Miamibased Carnival Cruise Line, as vice president of partnershi­p and loyalty. Before joining Carnival, he spent the last five years as chief integratio­n officer and executive vice president at Zimmerman Advertisin­g in Fort Lauderdale. Becher began his 30-year industry career as a producer/director at NFL Films and later became a founder and chief marketing officer of SportsTalk 790 radio “The Ticket.” For 15 years, Becher led his own agency, Sports & Sponsorshi­ps of Boca Raton.
