WR Kamrin Solomon re-joins Owls

- Matthew DeFranks

BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic receiver Kamrin Solomon practiced for the first time with the Owls on Saturday afternoon after missing the first 14 practices of preseason camp.

Before camp began, Solomon was issued a trespass warning by FAU, barring him from campus for his involvement in an alleged January fight. FAU receiver Kalib Woods was charged with two counts of felony battery for his role in the same altercation.

Solomon was never arrested or charged by Palm Beach County police.

The team suspended Woods indefinitely pending the outcome of the charges. Woods pleaded not guilty to the charges and has a court hearing scheduled for Monday morning. Woods was FAU’s leading receiver last season, and Solomon impressed Owls coaches with a strong spring.

FAU coach Lane Kiffin said Solomon was disciplined by the university, but did not disclose the punishment.

“He’s back practicing with the team,” Kiffin said. “He’s gone through the university system. They have disciplined him. I fully support that. But with all of our discipline with our players, that’s internal. We don’t make that public.”

According to a Palm Beach County police report, the incident involved two victims who were hospitalized because of their injuries. One suffered internal bleeding, and the other had a broken jaw.

First game: Navy at FAU, Sept. 1, 8 p.m., ESPNU
