- — Wells Dusenbury

Oxbridge Academy solidified its hold on the No. 1 spot with a dominant Week 2 performance, while Palm Beach Gardens and Pahokee continued to impress. 1. (1) OXBRIDGE ACADEMY (1-1) Through two weeks, the ThunderWolves have clearly established themselves as the top team in Palm Beach County. Oxbridge hammered Flanagan 69-0 last week.

vs. University School (Sep. 14) 2. (2) PALM BEACH GARDENS (2-0) The Gators pitched a shutout for the second straight week, blanking Royal Palm Beach 41-0. Palm Beach Gardens looks like the area’s most complete big school team so far.

vs. Seminole Ridge (Sep. 15) 3. (4) PAHOKEE (1-0) The Blue Devils are coming off a bye but will have a chance to make a statement against one of Palm’s strongest 8A programs.

at Cardinal Newman (Sep. 15) 4. (5) PALM BEACH CENTRAL (1-1) The Broncos played a very strong Melbourne Central Catholic team tough in a 17-8 road defeat.

at Wellington (Sept. 15) 5. (7) ATLANTIC (1-1) The Eagles rebounded with a solid 21-12 win over Dwyer. If Atlantic continues to get consistent play out of the passing game, they’ll be a tough out.

BYE 6. (3) DWYER (1-1) After its exhilarating Week 1 overtime win, the Panthers dropped a tough one to Atlantic. With such a young team, there will be plenty of ups and downs.

vs. Palm Beach Lakes (Sep. 15) 7. (NR) SEMINOLE RIDGE (2-0) The Hawks break into the poll after topping Memphis University School 20-19 at Orlando’s Wide World of Sports. The running games has been especially strong early in the season.

at Palm Beach Gardens (Sep. 15) 8. (8) WELLINGTON (1-1) The Wolverines’ defense was no match for Vero Beach in a 62-24 loss, but the Fighting Indians have one of the state’s most potent offenses.

vs. Palm Beach Central (Sep. 15) 9. (9) PARK VISTA (1-1) The Cobras rebounded nicely from their Week 1 loss to Dwyer with a 27-21 win over West Boca.

vs. Lake Worth (Sep. 15) 10. GLADES CENTRAL (1-1) The Raiders picked up the first win of Jessie Hester’s second stint with the program, beating Orange Park Oakleaf 13-12. BYE American Heritage-Delray, Palm Beach Lakes, Cardinal Newman
