Following is a partial update for cities in Broward and Palm Beach counties. .

BROWARD COUNTY COCONUT CREEK

There will be no garbage pickup Saturday.

CORAL SPRINGS

Recycling service ends today.

DAVIE

All parks will be closed beginning today. Garbage pickup will stop Saturday. Bulk pickup is canceled today and Saturday.

DEERFIELD BEACH

The city has sent out a voluntary evacuation recommenda­tion for all residents in low-lying areas, trailer parks and east of Federal Highway, including the barrier island.

FORT LAUDERDALE

Residentia­l trash, yard waste and recycling cart collection­s in the city of Fort Lauderdale will continue today, except for properties in the evacuation zone, east of Federal Highway. Bulk trash collection today will take place as regularly scheduled.

For hurricane parking, people can park on the third level or above in the City Park Garage, at 150 SE Second St. The first two levels of the garage are reserved for official emergency vehicles only.

HOLLYWOOD

City offices and community recreation centers are closed through the weekend. Garbage and recycling is canceled today and Saturday.

LAUDERDALE-BY-THESEA

There will be regular trash and recycling pickup today.

The emergency number for residents to call after the hurricane if the Town Hall phone system is knocked out is 833-204-3456.

MARGATE

Bulk waste, garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Saturday is canceled.

MIRAMAR

The city’s two shelter locations opened Thursday at Everglades High School, 17100 SW 48 Court, and New Renaissanc­e Middle School, 10701 Miramar Blvd. City shelters do not accommodat­e special needs or pets.

No bulk pickup Friday.

NORTH LAUDERDALE

All 9/11 events canceled Saturday and Monday. There will be no more bulk pickup until further notice.

OAKLAND PARK

Bulk-trash collection ended Thursday; trash collection will end today. Remove all garbage and trash containers from the curb by the end of today.

The city of Oakland Park will allow residents to fill up to 10 bags of sand at its sandbag depot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. Residents with proof they live in Oakland Park can get the sand at 5100 NE 12th Terrace.

PARKLAND

Garbage pickup is suspended after today. All city buildings and parks closed. All city events are canceled.

PEMBROKE PINES

The Sixth Annual Senior Spanish Spelling Bee has been reschedule­d to Oct. 10.

PLANTATION

Garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection will stop Saturday until further notice.

POMPANO BEACH

The Pompano Beach High School shelter was filled to capacity. Residents in need of shelter in that area are asked to go to Lyons Creek Middle School at 4333 Sol Press Blvd. in Coconut Creek.

Pompano Beach’s Pier Parking Garage, at Northeast Second Street between State Road A1A and Pompano Beach Boulevard, has been opened for free for people who need shelter their car during the storm.

The city’s Community Bus won’t be operating Friday and Monday.

SUNRISE

The mini bus routes and medical transporta­tion service have stopped running. The Sept. 11 ceremony Monday is canceled.

TAMARAC

The city’s bus service won’t be operating Friday.

PALM COUNTY

BOCA RATON BEACH

All meetings and events are canceled through Tuesday. City Hall, city buildings and parks will be closed today.

BOYNTON BEACH

City Hall and the City Library are closed. All recreation programs are also canceled.

WEST PALM BEACH

The Veterans Town Hall and Assistance Fair has been reschedule­d to Sept. 26.
