- News services

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Monday that there’s a chance Andrew

Luck could return to practice Wednesday.

Pagano already has ruled Luck out of Sunday night’s road game against the Seahawks.

Still, it would be a major milestone in Luck’s recovery from offseason shoulder surgery.

The franchise quarterback missed all of the team’s offseason workouts, all of training camp and the entire preseason before he was activated from the physically unable to perform list Sept. 2.

But the most significant indication Luck’s return is close came when Pagano didn’t rule him out of practice this week — something he did each of the last two Mondays.

Luck had surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.

Sproles done for season:

Darren Sproles will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee and breaking his right forearm on the same play during the Eagles’ 27-24 victory over the Giants on Sunday.

“It’s a devastating loss,” coach Doug Pederson said of the Sproles injury.

The versatile Sproles has nine career returns for touchdowns, including seven on punts. He has been to three Pro Bowls, including last season when he had a career-high 94 carries.

“He’s a great man. He’s a great leader, well-liked on this team and in this locker room and in this community,” Pederson said. “He’s a lot of energy, and that’s hard to replace.”

In December, Sproles, 34, told ESPN that this season might be his last.

“I feel like it will be time (to retire),” he said. No love for London: Coach John Harbaugh said he doesn’t want the Ravens to play in London again.

The Ravens, in their first overseas game, fell to the Jaguars 44-7 on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

“To be honest with you — and maybe I’ll get into trouble for saying this — don’t plan on going over there any time soon to play again,” Harbaugh said. “So, somebody else can have that job.”

The Ravens’ 37-point loss matched the largest margin of defeat in the franchise’s 21-year history. Bucs lose David: Pro Bowl linebacker Lavonte David may miss at least a month after spraining his left ankle during the Buccaneers’ 34-17 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

When asked about a potential four- to six-week timeline for David’s return, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter didn’t exactly agree.

“I think you’re jumping the gun,” he told the Tampa Bay Times. “It’s not as bad as it looked.”

Extra points: Bengals TE Tyler Eifert will miss at least the next two games with a back injury, ESPN reported. He sat out the Bengals’ 27-24 overtime loss to the Packers on Sunday . ... Rams DE Ethan

Westbrooks was arrested Friday night on suspicion of carrying a loaded stolen firearm, NFL.com reported. He was charged with receiving stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm and a stolen loaded firearm, grand theft of a firearm and possession of a high capacity magazine.
