Oxbridge Academy solidified its hold on the No. 1 spot with a dominant Week 5 performance, while Atlantic and Dwyer both jumped up in the rankings. Unless noted, all games listed are Thursday at 7 p.m. this week due to Yom Kippur. 1. (1) OXBRIDGE ACADEMY (2-1) The ThunderWolves continued their dominance, beating Cooper City 53-7 on Friday. Oxbridge’s lone defeat was a one-point loss to nationally ranked Archbishop Wood (Pa.).

vs. Glades Central 2. (5) ATLANTIC (2-1) After dropping the season opener, the Eagles have responded with a pair of impressive victories, topping Dwyer and Park Vista.

vs. Spanish River 3. (6) DWYER (2-1) The Panthers made it eight in a row over rival Palm Beach Gardens, topping the Gators, 33-25. The running game has been especially strong, with Cedrick Tucker and Bobby Armes leading the way.

Olympic Heights, then at Palm Beach Lakes (Monday) 4. (3) PAHOKEE (1-1) The Blue Devils fell on the road to Vero Beach 28-13, but there’s no shame in losing against one of the top teams in Class 1A. Pahokee’s defense fared decently well against the Fighting Indians’ high-powered offense.

vs. Jupiter, then vs. Seminole Ridge (Monday) 6. (5) PALM BEACH CENTRAL (1-2) The Broncos may be 1-2, but they’ve faced a brutal schedule and have held their own in close losses versus strong opponents in Melbourne Central Catholic and Palm Bay. Don’t let the record deceive you, Palm Beach Central is extremely formidable.

at Boca Raton, then at Wellington (Monday) 7. (7) SEMINOLE RIDGE (3-0) The Hawks continue to impress early on in the season. Ridge’s ground game was dominant once again in blanking Boynton Beach, 25-0.

vs. Wellington, then at Palm Beach Beach Gardens (Monday) 8. (8) WELLINGTON (2-1) Despite the loss of starting QB Connor Rogers, Wellington hasn’t missed a beat yet with Austin Wallace at the helm. The Wolverines are coming off a 35-0 win over John I. Leonard.

at Seminole Ridge, then vs. Palm Beach Central (Monday) 9. (10) GLADES CENTRAL (2-1) The Raiders have responded nicely after their narrow season-opening loss to University School. After dispatching Oakleaf, Jessie Hester’s squad topped Clewiston, 28-7.

at Oxbridge Academy 10. (NR) AMERICAN HERITAGE-DELRAY (2-2) The Stallions jump back into the rankings after beating Archbishop McCarthy, 14-0. Heritage is beginning to get healthy again with QB Ryan Rizk and WR John Dunmore back, which makes them very formidable. vs. Pensacola Catholic
