’Noles cope with significant injuries

- Safid Deen

TALLAHASSEE – Several Florida State football players are dealing with significant injuries following the team’s heartbreaking loss to Miami last week.

Starting safety is day-to-day, dealing with a “concussion-type scenario,” FSU coach

said during his Monday press conference. Marshall did not play after leaving the first half of FSU’s 24-20 loss.

Starting left guard who is playing through a right ankle injury suffered at Wake Forest on Sept. 30, will continue to be evaluated during practice this week, Fisher said. “We’ll have to wait and see,” Fisher said of Dickerson. Sophomore receiver and kick returner left the game with a lower-body injury, Fisher did not disclose much about.

“Keith is banged up,” Fisher said. “I don’t know yet officially. It looked like a pretty good little sprain.”

Senior linebacker of Orlando is “fine” and “good to go,” Fisher said, despite not playing against Wake Forest and Miami with a neck sprain.

Safety (undisclosed) and backup defensive end (undisclosed) also suffered injuries against Miami, which Fisher did not provide updates for.

The injuries piled onto the existing issues leading receiver (AC separation in left shoulder) and receiver (hip/core) are dealing with this season. “They’re all being evaluated right now,” Fisher said.
