Bulls have program-best streak

TAMPA — The USF Bulls have gone longer without a loss than any Division I team in the country.

They were handed that distinction by Iowa State, which ended Oklahoma’s nation-best win streak at 14 games with a 38-31 upset Saturday in Norman. It was the Sooners’ first defeat since a three-touchdown loss to Ohio State on Sept. 17, 2016.

The No. 18 Bulls (5-0), on a program-best 10-game win streak, haven’t lost since their 46-30 defeat at Temple on Oct. 21 2016.

And just for clarification, reigning national champ Clemson has won more consecutive games (11) than USF, but the Tigers’ last defeat came in a 43-42 home loss to Pitt on Nov. 12, 2016.

The AAC announced Monday the Bulls’ Oct. 21 game at Tulane will kick off at 7 or 7:30 p.m., and will be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU. The exact time will be announced following next weekend’s games.

The Bulls will try to score at least 30 points for the 23rd consecutive game Saturday against Cincinnati, which would tie the modern college record set by Oregon in 2011-12.

USF will enter Saturday’s homecoming game 10th nationally in total offense (510.9 ypg); Cincinnati is 111th (331.3).

The official Louisville football Twitter account indicated reigning Heisman winner is the sixth player in Division I history to pass for at least 7,000 yards and rush for at least 3,000. With at least seven college games remaining, Bulls senior QB is at 6,153 passing and 2,989 rushing yards.
