Patrons of Love Is Blind Food & Wine restaurant in Coral Gables may be surprised to learn that the popular spot is officially closed.

The restaurant, at 225 Altara Ave., just down the street from The Shops at Merrick Park, was opened in 2013 by Passion Restaurant Group, which also runs Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita and Crazy About You, both in Miami’s Brickell district.

It served a mix of foods and styles, including tostones with bruschetta, Asian vegetable spring rolls, Mexican oxtail tacos, and “I Cant Believe It’s Not Pasta,” which was zucchini linguini.

An Instagram post from the restaurant said it closed in August. A sign on the front door provides some details: “This has not been an easy decision. It has been 4 years of lots of hard work, effort and many sacrifices from all of the team at LOVE IS BLIND, to whom we thank from the bottom of our hearts.

“Operational costs and current sales have left us little choice but to close our doors.”

The sign posted on the front door refers people to dine at one of the restaurant’s sister eateries, where most of Love Is Blind’s employees have reportedly been relocated.

Love Is Blind, which had a deejay, was a favorite romantic spot for couples and a place to celebrate milestones. The restaurant ranked four out of five stars on both Tripadvisor.com and Yelp.com.

The walls of the interior were decorated with famous quotes about love and feel-good things such as: “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn,’’ and “In victory, you deserve champagne. In defeat, you need it.”
