Hurricanes coping with injuries
CORAL GABLES — As the Hurricanes continue trying to move forward after their emotional 24-20 win over Florida State, it appears the victory may have been more costly than initially believed. Two days after Miami announced star running back
would have season-ending surgery on his injured ankle, four other starters were on conditioning bicycles as their teammates practiced Tuesday. Hurricanes coach said it was unclear whether those players would play against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Right guard injured on the same play that knocked Walton out of the game in Tallahassee, was with the conditioning players, a large boot on his right foot. Also conditioning were receiver (hamstring), cornerback and
both of whom are dealing with unspecified injuries. After Tuesday’s practice, Richt shed a bit of light on Miami’s injury situation, noting the team held Richards out to continue giving the hamstring time to heal and saying Donaldson (ankle sprain) was questionable for Saturday.
Richt classified both Redwine and Delaney as “day-today,” but declined to say whether Redwine was dealing with a concussion.
Richt also said that receiver who was sporting a non-contact jersey during practice, was dealing with soreness, and they wanted to be cautious after some of the hits he took against FSU.
