Loudermilk happy to miss action
UCF punter didn’t mind that he didn’t see much action against Cincinnati last Saturday. In fact, he’s perfectly fine with it.
The Knights scored on all eight of their offensive possessions against the Bearcats, jumping out to a 51-23 lead before thunder storms forced the premature end to the game with four seconds left in the third quarter.
It’s not the first time in his football career that the redshirt junior has missed out on punting during a game.
“There was about a three-game stretch in high school where I didn’t punt because the offense was scoring on every drive,” Loudermilk said. “To me, that’s the perfect game.”
While Loudermilk may not have used his leg during the game, he did see action. In addition to being the holder for kicker
Loudermilk has twice been called upon this season to run the team’s two-point conversion attempt. During UCF’s first game against FIU, he completed a pass to tight end
after the team’s initial touchdown. And against Cincinnati, Loudermilk attempted a similar pass that was off target after the Knights’ second touchdown of the game.
UCF had a special guest drop by practice Wednesday as Seattle Seahawks cornerback the twin brother of linebacker stopped by to check out things at Nicholson Center during Seattle’s bye week. Shaquill played safety for the Knights from 2013-16.
