Student with gun on bus arrested

A Palm Beach County teen was arrested after police said he had a gun on a school bus.

The arrest took place Tuesday afternoon when the 16-year-old Dwyer High School student got off the bus on west 23rd street in Riviera Beach. He is facing a gun possession charge. The school district says the weapon was discovered after an anonymous call to school police while the bus was taking students home. It’s not clear if the student had the gun with him while on the high school campus or if it was loaded.

The school district says additional security and officers were on campus Wednesday and that parents were notified about the incident.
