Milton copes with hamstring injury

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — UCF quarterbac­k

left the game against Navy Saturday after suffering what appeared to be a lower body injury. After the game, the sophomore said he tweaked his hamstring a bit but he expects to be ready to go this week.

“I just tweaked it a bit. I’ll be fine. I got through it,” Milton said following UCF’s 31-21 win.

Milton suffered the injury at the start of the second quarter when he was pushed out-of-bounds on a fouryard scramble. He came up limping a bit and the UCF staff led him into the team’s medical tent on the sideline.

Backup replaced Milton and completed one pass for three yards.

Milton returned to the game on the next possession, capping a 15-yard touchdown run by

Anderson, who finished the game with 56 yards rushing, said he couldn’t have imagined it any other way.

“That’s what I thought when I crossed the finish line,” Anderson said. “It came at a big time and AK [Adrian Killins] came up to me afterwards and said you’re a difference-maker.”

Anderson also came up with a huge six-yard catch on a third-and-three earlier in that drive that set up his later touchdown run.
