This international fast-casual chain, created by the founders of Seattle Coffee Co. in 2008, has opened its first Florida outpost in the Shoppes of Parkland in the former Lucky Dragon.

“Parkland is one of the fastest-growing areas in South Florida,” says Jarett S. Levan, president of franchisee BBX Capital. “We have begun construction on locations at The Walk of Coral Springs and The Palms at Town & Country in Kendall. We anticipate opening our first West Palm Beach location in 2018.”

Customers tailor their salads and pizzas in assembly-line fashion with more than 30 unlimited toppings for a flat price of $7.97. (Or $4.97 for 6-inch pizza or side salad and $10.97 for 11-inch pizza or family-size salad.) Specialty pizzas are the same price, such as buffalo chicken Calexico. An 800-degree, gas-fired oven cooks pizzas for about four minutes. Gluten-free crust is an option ($2).

Odds and ends include milkshakes ($3.57), craft beer and wine ($4.97) and an upgraded version of a Ding Dong, called No Name Cake ($1.97)

Lunch and dinner are served daily amid a red mural by sought-after local artist Ruben Ubiera, a community photo collage, blond wood tables, red-and-black banquettes, open-air counter window and wraparound patio.

?? BBX CAPITAL AND MOD PIZZA FLORIDA/COURTESY ?? The new MOD Pizza in Parkland offers seasonal pizza, such as the Kane with mozzarella, pepperoni, spinach, red onion and gorgonzola.
