Condo residents to have helicopter at their disposal.

- By Jennifer Boehm Staff writer

Imagine bypassing rush-hour traffic in a private helicopter and getting to the airport in less than 10 minutes.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach will be offering that opportunity, and more, to its residents.

From the Residences, owners will take a short ride on the property’s house yacht through a private waterway and link up with the chopper at a floating launch pad (called a navigable marine he-listop) in Biscayne Bay.

Flights for up to six people can be booked to anywhere in Florida, including the Keys, and also the Bahamas.

Thanks to a partnership with iLand Miami, in conjunction with Miami Executive Helicopters, The Ritz-Carlton Residences will schedule helicopter shuttles directly through its concierge desk.

Pricing will depend on helicopter type (three-person or six-person capacity), distance and number of passengers.

The Ritz-Carlton property, scheduled for completion early next year, will consist of 111 condo residences, as well as 15 standalone home villas designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni. It marks his first full-scale architectural project in the United States.

The villas will be comprised of eight waterfront homes, each with private boat dockage, and seven garden villas. They will be avail-

able with one to five bedrooms, range in size from 2,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet, and are priced from $2 million to $40 million.

Five penthouses will be available in the residence building with a unique option to combine two penthouses (PH1 and PH12) to create a larger eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom unit selling for $40 million. This deluxe unit will feature four pools, a game suite, wine room, library and a Hammam spa.

Other amenities at the Ritz will include a halfacre rooftop pool deck with cabanas, open-air yoga studio and meditation garden, pet grooming and car wash facilities, and 36 private boat docks.

Residents will be able to channel their inner van Gogh or Picasso in what is touted as the world’s first residential art studio, according to the property’s website. Easels for painting, wall space for canvases, a stone surface for sculpting, a table for jewelry making and beading, as well as a working sink, will be included.

There also will be a oneof a-kind luxury Sharing Room, allowing residents to contribute and gain preowned items, such as musical instruments, bikes and golf clubs.

The east lobby of the Residences, estimated at $2.5 million to build, will feature a $500,000 custom staircase designed by Lissoni. It will cater to art enthusiasts and travelers showcasing a variety of art pieces, artifacts and collectibles, along with books from around the globe.
