Carnival Cruise Line embraced another visionoriented name for its third Vista-class ship, dubbing it Carnival Panorama.

The theme follows suit with the original ship in the class, 2016’s Carnival Vista that sails from PortMiami, and also its sister ship Carnival Horizon that is set to debut in April 2018.

All three tout the ship’s design as one that has quite a view. Carnival Panorama will come online in fall 2019.

“Carnival Panorama is the perfect name to reflect the design inspiration of our Vista-class ships providing more venues and opportunities to connect with the sea,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy in a press release. “Carnival Panorama will offer a wide variety of fun indoor and outdoor experiences along with exciting one-of-a-kind features that will provide our guests with a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories.”

At 133,500 gross registered tons, the ships are the largest in the Carnival fleet. Carnival Panorama will have a similar number of cabins to its sister ships, being able to accommodate 3,934 passengers based on double occupancy.

All three ships’ signature feature is the SkyRide attraction that lets riders pedal their way on vehicles suspended from a track that runs above the top deck of about half the ship.

Also coming to Carnival Panorama will be dining experiences with both indoor and outdoor seating including the cruise line’s Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Library Bar and Bonsai Sushi.

It, too, will have a WaterWorks aqua park and SportSquare recreation area. Indoors, the ship will have the Cloud 9 Spa and Ocean Plaza dining area.

Also, the line will continue its segmentation of cabins into themed options that cater to various kinds of guests. The Havana section, which doesn’t allow children under 12, will have a Cuban-themed bar and pool. The Family Harbor section has cabins that cater to larger families and has the Family Harbor Lounge.

The ship’s construction will continue at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy and begin service in November 2019.

The second Vista-class ship, Carnival Horizon, will debut April 2, 2018, sailing the Mediterranean until May when it makes its way on a 14-day transatlantic voyage to New York for summer sailings to Bermuda and the Caribbean. Starting in September, Horizon will reposition to PortMiami for six- and eight-night Caribbean trips and one special two-night cruise to Nassau on Sept. 20.

Homeport information for Carnival Panorama was not released.

Horizon and Panorama will be the 26th and 27th ships in the fleet. Farther down the road, Carnival will be getting two 180,000-ton ships that can hold 5,200 guests at double capacity. Those two ships will come online in 2020 and 2022.
