Report: Attorney had sex with jailed woman; made porn videos

- By Doug Phillips Staff writer

A lawyer who lives in Tampa had sex with a woman several times in the Pinellas County jail and is accused of soliciting sex from other incarcerated women, according to news reports.

Attorney Andrew Spark used a private room at the jail that is not monitored by surveillance because it is reserved for lawyers to meet with their clients, the reports said.

Along with having sex in the jail, Spark, 54, solicited sex from other women at other jails — offering to deposit money in their jail accounts in exchange for filming the acts for a video titled Girls in Jail, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

At a news conference Monday, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said “He duped the system because he came in there representing himself as a lawyer.” Spark was not representing the woman in the Pinellas County Jail or any of the other women, investigators said.

According to Gualtieri, Spark, who now is in private practice, worked for the Florida Attorney General’s office from 2004 to 2011.

Spark met one of the women he is accused of soliciting two years ago at a porn convention, WFTS television reported. The woman was later arrested on child pornography charges and although she and Spark didn’t have sex in jail, she was open “to doing it in the future,” the station reported.

At the Pinellas County Jail, Spark engaged in sex acts at least six times with a 28-year-old woman who is being held on drug charges , the Tampa Bay Times reported. Each time he would deposit $30 to $40 in her commissary account.

“It was really ridiculously nominal accounts,” Gualtieri said at the news conference.

Spark was arrested Sunday on charges of exposure of sex organs, having contraband in a jail facility and soliciting for prostitution, according to jail records. He was later released on bonds totaling $5,300.

Through the closed door of his Tampa apartment, Spark refused to comment to WFTS but did say he was hiring an attorney.
