Home Depot has announced plans to hire 950 additional workers in South Florida in preparation for the spring home-improvement season.

About 500 of the jobs are in Broward and MiamiDade county stores, while about 450 are in Palm Beach County, a Home Depot spokeswoman said.

That’s about the same number of seasonal employees announced last year for the tricounty region.

Postings include jobs for cashiers as well as sales, operations and online order fulfillment positions. There are both permanent parttime and seasonal positions in the company’s stores and distribution centers.

Job-seekers can apply online at careers.homedepot.com, or text HOMEDEPOT to 52270 to receive a link to apply for hourly positions in their area.

Home Depot has about 30 stores in South Florida and a total of more than 2,200. In 2016, sales were $94.6 billion, an increase of 6.9 percent from 2015.

In December, the company acquired The Company Store, an online retailer of textiles and decor. The terms were not disclosed.

Home Depot’s stock, traded on the New York Stock Exchange, closed at $199.82 a share, up $3.51 or 1.79 percent, on Wednesday.

Prime competitor Lowe’s has seasonal jobs listed on its website in Florida, but none are in South Florida.
