People 18 years old and older can take advantage of a program that helps mentor participants toward a healthy lifestyle.

Those interested in participating must live in Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Pompano Beach or West Park.

The Healthy Living Broward Program will connect participants to local community-based programs to improve health and wellness,.

The programs include finding an incentive visit to a nearby doctor, access to healthy foods, information about activities in local parks and community centers, registration for no-cost diabetes prevention or self-management classes, helping to quit smoking and even motivational healthy living text messages.

Though this is not a medical program, the program hopes to assist residents who are living in specific areas of Broward County and who may be pre-diabetic, diabetic and/or hypertensive, and share with them information about community-based services and activities that may be beneficial to their overall health.

To participate in this voluntary program, Individuals must complete a consent form. For more information visit touchbroward.org/hlb/ or call 954-561-9681, Ext. 1261.

To sign up for weekly motivational text messages, email HealthyLiving@brhpc.org.
