Warriors give Curry OK to return

The Warriors cleared guard Stephen Curry to play Friday against the Hawks.

The two-time league MVP missed the last six games with an injured right ankle.

Curry participat­ed in the Warriors’ non-contact practices Wednesday and Thursday without any reported setbacks. The Warriors were 2-4 in his absence. Celtics PG Kyrie Irving will undergo surgery Saturday to alleviate pain in his left knee. Irving has been out since March 11. There’s no timetable for his return, but the Celtics said his status will be updated following the “minimally invasive” procedure . ... F Giannis Antetokoun­mpo sat out the Bucks’ home game against the Bulls on Friday because of a sprained right ankle. Antetokoun­mpo suffered the injury during Wednesday’s 127-120 loss to the Clippers. ... The Lakers signed F Travis Wear for the rest of the season. He averaged 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in the 10 games he’s played so far this season.
