Scouting report: The Panthers return home for just one game Saturday night when they host Arizona before embarking on four-game road trip. Florida finished a three-game road trip on Thursday night with a 4-0 loss to Columbus that ruined a chance to jump into a playoff position. The Panthers entered Friday one point behind New Jersey for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference with one game in hand on the Devils. Florida’s power play went 0-for-4 against Blue Jackets, keeping the Panthers scoreless in their last 13 power-play opportunit­ies. Roberto Luongo is expected to be back in net for Florida on Saturday against the Coyotes. … Arizona (25-38-11) owns the worst record in the Western Conference and the second-worst in the NHL. The Coyotes have won two of their last three games, but are coming off a 6-5 loss in Carolina on Thursday night. Florida won the first meeting between the teams on Dec. 19, coming from behind to win 3-2. Rookie forward Clayton Keller leads Arizona with 21 goals and 57 points. Former Panthers and current Coyotes defenseman Jason Demers is out for the rest of the season with an upper-body injury.
