Comcast announced that Javier Garcia has joined the company’s Florida region as the senior vice president of sales and marketing. Garcia is returning to South Florida after spending the past three years at Comcast’s corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, most recently as senior vice president and general manager of Multicultural Xfinity Services.

PGA National Resort & Spa announced Bruce Zabriski as director of golf sales. Zabriski is a former player on the PGA tour. He competed in three U.S. Open Championships, six PGA Championships, one British Open, two U.S. Senior Opens and one Senior PGA Championship. In the past, Zabriski was assistant professional at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York, director of golf at Trump International Golf Club, director of golf at Old Palm Golf Club, membership development director at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club and most recently as senior assistant professional to the director of golf at New York’s Westchester Country Club. Jason Hrynkiw has joined Boca Woods Country Club as the new PGA director of golf, from Laurel Oak Country Club in Sarasota, where he was head professional for three years. Prior to Laurel Oak he was the head professional at Gleneagles Country Club in Delray Beach for seven years.

Each year, the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Broward County coordinates the Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame, honoring elder excellence in the volunteer sector of Broward County and its residents, age 60 and older, who have dedicated more than five years volunteering, including Bruce A. Blitman was recently elected to the Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame. Blitman, a longtime attorney and Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit, Family and County Court Mediator, will be recognized for his 10 years of exemplary volunteerism and hours contributed to the Broward community, at the 35th annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast, scheduled to take place during Older Americans Month, May 4, at the Renaissance Plantation Hotel.

The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce announced that Maurice Gabriel-Alexander has joined as Vice President of Business Development & Sales. He was most recently a Vice President and Director of Business Development at Tekweni Group consultants. Before that, he held leadership roles at various finan-- cial institutions including Fidelity Trust Capital, Aegis Funding, and Wells Fargo.

The Orange Bowl Committee announced eight new Active Members for the 2018-19 year. The are: Michael A. Cabanas, managing director and head of relationship development for Fiduciary Trust International of the South; Tony Coley, president-South Florida region, BB&T; Ygnacio L. Garcia-Saladrigas, financial professional; John Lie-Nielsen, chief executive office, One Park Financial LLC; Patricia McKay, managing director and partner, Templeton & Co.; Les Pantin, associate, P3 Management, N.A; Wm. M. (Bill) Pierce, principal, Pierce Consulting Group Inc.; and Jonathan Vilma, college football analyst, ESPN. With these additions, the Orange Bowl Committee consists of 360 members. Goodman Jewish Family Services of Broward has Rahman named Lisa J. Rahman as president and chief executive officer. For the past seven years, Rahman was director of administration, programs and grants at Goodman JFS. National Haitian American Elected Officials Network (NHAEON) recently selected North Miami Councilman Alix Desulme to serve on its 2018 board of directors as vice-chair. NHAEON is a nonpartisan coalition of elected and appointed government officials of Haitian decent, including judges, senators, state representatives, county commissioners and city council members who collaborate to work in Haitian communities nationally and to address issues of concern to Haiti. Leadership includes appointees nationwide. Other board members from Florida include: Chairwoman Victoria P. Siplin from Orange County and Treasurer Christina Romelus from Boynton Beach.

Perry Borman recently joined Nurse-Family Partnership as Florida philanthropy officer. Borman was the founding chief executive officer of the Palm Beach County Food Bank as well as the southeast regional managing director for the Florida Department of Children and Families. The Memorial Foundation announced that
Babette Ferre-Kosar has been named director of development for the Memorial Cancer Institute. Prior to joining Memorial Healthcare System, Ferre-Kosar was executive director of the I Care I Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation. In the past, Ferre-Kosar also spent three Ferre-Kosar years as development director of Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Broward County.
Mario Murgado, president and chief executive officer of Brickell Motors, has been reelected chair of the board for Nicklaus Children’s Health System, parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Michael Fux, CEO of Comfort Revolution, a leading developer of high-end sleep products, was reelected vice chair. Theresa J.C. Pazionis, an oncologic orthopedist and spine surgeon, has joined Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida. Previouisly, Pazionis was a spine surgeon and orthopedic oncologist at New York Spine Institute, NYU Langone Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, N.Y.

Monument Capital Management, an A-Rod Corp. company and real estate investment firm, has named Donte Harris as director of student housing, in Miami. Previously, Harris was general manager at Asset Campus Housing. Before that, he was director of community operations at Greystar Management Services.
Construction
Kaufman Lynn Construction, which recently moved to new corporate headquarters in Delray Beach, has named Frank White as president, from senior vice president. Michael Kaufman, who has been chief executive officer and president since the company’s inception in 1989, retains the title of chief executive officer. .
