Ryan Yetman, expanding YMCA of the Palm Beaches
Ryan Yetman was recently named the marketing and membership coordinator for the YMCA of the Palm Beaches. He has oversight of front desk personnel, the face of the organization. Each day, he helps the team get ready to provide customer and membership services. He networks and canvasses for new members. He touches base with existing members for feedback and to ensure they are receiving services. In addition, he oversees technical software training, and he writes newsletters and keeps the organization’s website current. Yetman plans events too, such as the upcoming Cinco de Mayo Party and Zumbathon on May 5. In the past, Yetman interned at ESPN Radio in West Palm Beach, where, he says, he found his career calling in marketing.
Resume

Professional development
Be a sponge: Interning provided a variety of opportunities for me to develop confidence. There, I also gained clarity about how to share the message or mission from Steve Politziner, owner of Good Karma Brands. He
said: there is a fine line between a good salesman and a pushy one. One demonstrates how a product or service benefits a customer while the other shuts out the customer’s needs in his pursuit to sell.
Advice to young professionals: Patience and a real desire to help others will take you far. Get some customer service experience so you can increase your problem-solving skills; and learn how to utilize social media as a marketing tool.
Network: Develop your communication skills. I joined a Toastmasters Club chapter.
