■ Braves: Six-time All-Star Jose Bautista agreed to a minor-league contract and will report to extended spring training and play third base. Bautista, 37, earned $18 million last season with the Blue Jays and hit .203 with 23 homers and 63 RBIs. Braves 3B Ryan Flaherty was leading the NL with a .354 average, but his career mark is .221 . ... RHP Anibal Sanchez went on the DL after straining his right hamstring while running in the outfield before batting practice.

■ Diamondbac­ks: RHP Taijuan Walker will need Tommy John surgery to repair a partly torn ulnar collateral ligament. “It’s terribly disappoint­ing,” manager Torey Lovullo said.

■ Pirates: Sean Rodriguez hit a two-run homer, Josh Bell drove in three runs and David Freese added a two-run double in a 10-2 win over the Rockies. Adam Frazier had three of the Pirates’ 13 hits. Chad Kuhl surrendere­d Chris Iannetta’s solo home run in working six innings of four-hit ball. The Pirates are the only team whose starters have gone at least five innings in every game.

■ Brewers: Zach Davies allowed three hits over 61⁄3 innings to win for the first time this season, fueling a 2-0 shutout of the Reds. Eric Thames hit a two-run homer. OF Christian Yelich played for the first time since April 4 (oblique) and went 1-for-2 with two walks.

■ Blue Jays: Curtis Granderson hit his ninth grand slam, Teoscar Hernandez’s four hits included a two-run homer and the Jays routed the Royals 15-5. The Jays set team season highs with 15 runs and 15 hits and are off off to their best start since 2009 at 12-5. The Royals’ slide reached eight.

■ Tigers: Dixon Machado’s walkoff home run capped the wild final two innings of a 6-5 victory over the Orioles. Each team scored three runs in the eighth and one in the ninth. Miguel Cabrera went deep on his 35th birthday, and Jeimer Candelario and John Hicks also homered for the Tigers. Danny Valencia hit a solo homer for the Orioles, who have lost five straight.
