Dolphins will have slightly different jerseys this season.
The Miami Dolphins made changes to the team’s 2018 jerseys, but the alterations are so subtle they are hard for the untrained eye to notice.
The new jerseys, which were unveiled through a series of pictures, features a thicker, darker orange, pay homage to the original colors that had been worn in the past, according to the team.
The marine blue was removed from the numbers, names and stripes. However, the blue remains in the team’s logo, but the orange in the logo is also darker.
However, the overall design of the Nike jersey is the same, with the same font, number and logo.
According to the team, the update is “more on brand” and attempts to give “a modern version of the classic Dolphins look.”
The Dolphins will continue to wear their throwback uniforms twice a year and they’ll remain unchanged.
Per NFL rules, uniform changes must remain in effect for five years.
The last time the Dolphins changed their uniform and logo was 2013.
That change, which included a change to the logo, had a chilly initial reception but fans have seemed to warm to it over the years.
The big change to the logo in 2013 made the actual dolphin appear a bit friendlier. The change also removed the football helmet from the dolphin.
The minor tweaks for the 2018 season aren’t nearly as jarring.
