Two people have been arrested following a Cooper City burglary that the helpless homeowner watched on a cellphone app as it was taking place.

Ryan Anthony Ouimet, 28, of Davie, was arrested Tuesday, a day after detectives arrested his girlfriend, Carly Marie Morgan, 26, for allegedly lying to investigators about Ouimet’s whereabouts.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office says Ouimet is the man seen on security camera video inside a Cooper City home on April 23 and that Morgan was identified after a neighbor’s surveillance video showed a car matching her blue Hyundai Tiburon speeding away from the scene after the burglary.

Neighbors and the news media spread video of that car and the burglary on social media which generated several anonymous tips that led detectives to Morgan’s home and employer, according to the arrest report.

Her boss told them Morgan was in New Orleans. Reached by phone, Morgan told investigators she had not seen her boyfriend in a week and later said she last saw him April 24, the report stated.

Detectives checked plane manifests and learned Morgan and Ouimet flew to New Orleans together. They also found her car parked at her home and covered with a blue tarp to conceal it, the report said.

Investigators have released some pictures of jewelry and other valuables they believe were stolen during that burglary and others. They are hoping other burglary victims will come forward to claim their property.
