Yankees: Neil Walker’s walkoff single in the 11th clinched a 7-6 win over the A’s. The Yanks avoided a three-game skid. LF Brett Gardner threw out Matt Olson at the plate to help Aroldis Chapman escape a bases-loaded, no-outs jam in the ninth. Gary Sanchez and Aaron Hicks hit the Yankees’ first consecutive home runs of the year. Didi Gregorius singled to end an 0-for-30 slide.

Orioles: Jonathan Schoop homered twice to key a 6-3 win over the Rays in the opener of a doubleheader. Manny Machado also homered as the Orioles ran their winning streak to four. David Hess gave up three runs on six hits with no walks in six innings in his MLB debut.

Nationals: Stephen Strasburg struck out nine in 62⁄3 innings as the Nationals beat the Diamondbacks 2-1 for their sixth win in seven games. Strasburg allowed one run on five hits. The D’backs lost their season-high fourth in a row and lost a series for the first time after 10 wins and two ties . ... The Nats put 1B Ryan Zimmerman on the DL with a strained right oblique and promoted veteran IF Mark Reynolds.

Tigers: Jose Iglesias hit a tworun homer and Grayson Greiner drove in the first two runs of his big-league career in a 4-3 victory over the Mariners in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Matthew Boyd allowed three runs on three hits and struck out six in six innings.

Padres: Veteran 3B Chase Headley, hitting .115, was designated for assignment. With the emergence of Christian Villanueva, Headley had been limited almost exclusively to pinch hitting. In 12 seasons, Headley, 34, batted .263 with 130 home runs. Utility player Cory Spangenberg was recalled.

Reds: Matt Harvey tossed four innings of one-hit ball in a 6-2 win over the Dodgers late Friday night. ’Harvey struck out two and walked none in a 55-pitch outing, his fastball reaching the mid-90s. “I hadn’t seen that in a while,” Harvey said. “It was good to know it's still in there. It was a good first start. There’s a lot of work and a lot of season left.”
