‘Bachelor’ auditions
Single women have another shot in July in Lauderdale.
ABC’s “The Bachelorette” announced that it’s having casting calls this summer for the next “The Bachelor” and one of them is in Fort Lauderdale.
The auditions will take place 1 to 5 p.m. July 15 at the Riverside Hotel, 620 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Because it’s for the next “The Bachelor,” the show will be scouting for female contestants looking for love, a rose or some fame.
The region has been a regular stop for the reality show. Last year’s “Bachelorette” Rachel Lindsay had five South Florida contestants to choose from including Miami chiropractor Bryan Abasolo who won her heart and the season. And during last season’s “The Bachelor,” there were three South Florida contestants competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s attention.
The current season, which launched May 29, features “Bachelorette” Becca Kuprin who was a finalist on Luyendyk Jr’s season.
Prospective contestants must be at least 21 years old, single, U.S. citizens or legal residents. They should have a passport to travel outside the United States for dates and excursions. (During Luyendyk’s season, the show came to Broward for dates in Hallandale Beach, Fort Lauderdale and the Everglades.)
Producers tend to go for contestants who have an outgoing personality. Being dramatic is usually a plus.
