Emergency management and response will be the focus of the South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association’s 2018 Healthcare Summit Wednesday and Thursday at the Signature Grand in Davie.

Tickets remain available for the event, which will explore lessons learned from last year’s hurricanes as well as the shooting tragedies in Parkland, Orlando and Las Vegas.

Beverly Capasso, CEO of Broward Health, and Jaime PlaCortes, executive president of the Puerto Rico Hospital Association, will be featured speakers.

Robert Lasky, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Miami division, is scheduled to speak at the association’s VIP dinner on Wednesday.

Association president Jaime Caldwell said a wide variety of health care professionals will share their experiences. Leaders will discuss challenges such as managing their supply chains and overcoming computer network breaches. Pharmacists will talk about the importance of having emergency management plans “when lives are at stake and critical supplies and services are disrupted and patients are in need,” Caldwell said.

Participants will earn three continuing education credits from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Attendance fees for both days are $110 for members and $150 for nonmembers. The VIP dinner ticket is $250.
