Workplaces around the country today are hosting “Take Your Dog to Work Day.” After Fido’s long day exploring his person’s workplace, he might need a drink.

Luckily, there are dog-friendly restaurant­s around South Florida that offer yappy hours — yes, that’s what they’re called — for man and his best friend.

The Nauti Dawg Marina Cafe, in Lighthouse Point, has a specialize­d K9 menu filled with snacks for your pooch. Items are $3 to $7. Owners can enjoy happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2841 Marina Circle. Call 954-941-0246 or visit NautiDawg.com.

The Parrot Lounge, in Fort Lauderdale, is right across the street from Fort Lauderdale’s dog beach. They are always dog friendly, but on the last Friday of every month, they host Dogs, Beaches and Brews, which partners with Angels Dog Rescue to have live music, drink specials and raffles. Don’t have a dog to enjoy these places with? The Humane Society of Broward County, in Fort Lauderdale, hosts unique yappy hours where people enjoy a cocktail while playing with adoptable pets. The events are from 4 to 6 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. and companies can schedule events or birthday parties with up to 100 attendees at the shelter. It costs $35 per person and is at 2070 Griffin Road.
