W Miami hotel in the Icon Brickell building has replaced the 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar with this new global concept on the 15th floor, boasting dramatic views of Key Biscayne.

“Addikt delivers on what might be considered traditiona­l fare, but with a twist — for example, using lentils as a base rather than traditiona­l quinoa or rice,” says executive chef Christian Quiñones, a Puerto Rican native. “My culture and background have influenced my style by using a variety of ingredient­s and flavors, specifical­ly garlic, annatto, cilantro, peppers, bay leaf, plantains and coconut. My parents have this recipe for these incredible red beans that I use throughout the menu. I’ll be looking to incorporat­e more of my family’s traditiona­l Puerto Rican recipes.”

Those red beans and rice appear with a grilled skirt steak with yuzu chimichurr­i for lunch ($25). Quiñones’ homeland also inspired the Octopus Aficionado with rocoto-pepper marinade and watercress-zucchini puree ($16).

Another of Quiñones’ favorites is Bang Bang Tuna Tartare with a lighter-than-usual marinade of citrus flavors from Laos ($15).

Dessert also has an Asian citrus twist, with Japanese yuzu curd, pistachio sponge cake and ginger ice cream ($16).

Cocktails ($15) feature the tropical W Crush with tequila, mezcal, lychee-infused pineapple and jalapeño.

Three meals are served daily, plus weekend brunch, amid a dark-gray, sleek ambiance with wraparound, floor-to-ceiling windows and metallic-silver, high-backed banquettes. Terrace seating is expected at the end of September with a view of the 200-foot infinity pool.
