Junior RB Jaylan Knighton had the best performance by a Deerfield Beach running back in school history. The four-star Oklahoma commit gashed Taravella for a school-record 347 rushing yards and scored three times Thursday, highlighting the top performers from Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Richards, a four-star athlete, rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winner as time expired. He also caught four passes for 43 yards and another touchdown as the host Wolverines stunned Seminole Ridge 22-21.

Scalzo, a senior Kentucky commit, set a Cardinal Gibbons record with six passing touchdowns against Coconut Creek. Scalzo finished the game 13-of-20 for 205 passing yards.

The junior running back rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns (50 yards and 9 yards) on 15 carries in the Hawks’ loss against Wellington.

THADDIUS FRANKLIN | CHAMINADE-MADONNA Franklin helped the Lions recover from a loss to American Heritage-Plantation by rushing for 136 yards and three touchdowns in Chaminade-Madonna’s 42-6 win over Piper.

The sophomore strong safety returned two interceptions for scores, for 53 and 55 yards, as Atlantic cruised to a 55-0 win over Spanish River.

The sophomore quarterback led the Patriots to their second win of the year with a three-touchdown performance in a victory over Cypress Bay. Smith finished the first half with 296 passing yards before leaving the game in a rout.
