New Harbour towers feature aromatherapy trail, water club, eatery

The idea behind The Harbour — the latest North Miami Beach condo project — is to give residents a sense of serenity.

Designed with “eco” features, the 4.5-acre property will have two, 32-story towers surrounded by an aromatherapy trail with lavender for tension relief, eucalyptus for pain relief, and chamomile to combat stress and anxiety.

There also will be a massive “living wall” in the shared lobby with plants, an automatic irrigation system, and a lighting system to stimulate photosynthesis.

Gardens near the spa overlook the conservation easement with mangroves — in other words, you’ll have a view of the mangroves while you get a massage.

“This was a very unique site… [and we] envisioned a secluded unique environment where we could stimulate the senses [with the] serenity of green spaces and nature,” said Rey Melendi, chief operating officer of 13th Floor Investments, which built the twin towers along the Intracoastal Waterway, along with Key International, a real estate investment and development company. “That was the real vision.”

The Harbour’s South Tower, which has 213 units, is expected to open within a couple of weeks, while the North Tower, with 212 units, should be available by the end of November, he said.

The units in both towers range in price from $593,000 to $967,000 and in size from 1,167 to 1,873 square feet. They have between one and three bedrooms, except for eight penthouse units, which have four bedrooms.

There will also be five, two-story villas, measuring from 2,317 to 2,751 square feet. The villas are on the first floor of the North Tower, designed to feel like houses. Separate parking is available at the villas so residents don’t need to use the elevator.

The Harbour took more than two years to build. Melendi said it has attracted international buyers “seeking luxury, waterfront living.” The land had previously been a boat launch.

Among The Harbour’s other shared perks:

The private Aqua Club, which offers equipment for boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and windsurfing.

An organic eatery, Juice & Java, which will operate the property’s beach club restaurant (not open to the public).

A resort-style pool and children’s splash pad,

plus indoor and outdoor spas, and steam and sauna rooms.

An amenity deck over the parking garage on the eighth floor, which will have a fitness course, tennis court, mini-soccer field and basketball court.

A fitness center with studios for instructor-led classes.

A two-story social lounge, dubbed Grove, which will have billiards, poker and boardgame tables, and a library stocked with books, magazines, and high-speed internet.

“Honestly, you’ve got to see it. We’re putting the finishing touches on it now,” Melendi said. “We’re going through and polishing everything.”

Miami-based 13th Floor Investments is best known for its construction on top of former golf courses. Hundreds of single-family homes were built in Tamarac, and more projects are pending in Margate and Delray Beach.
