Akeem Dent visited his future school over the weekend and witnessed the worst home defeat Florida State has ever suffered as the Seminoles fell, 59-10, to Clemson.

That hasn’t shaken the Palm Beach Central star defensive back or his commitment, though.

“It was pretty unusual,” Dent said. “It’s just a loss. But it’s all good.”

Dent, a five-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite ranking, has been committed to FSU since July of 2017. Dent stuck with the Seminoles after Jimbo Fisher left to take over at Texas A&M and Willie Taggart became Florida State’s new head coach.

“I’ve got a good relationship with all of them,” said Dent, adding that he talks with the staff nearly every day.

Dent, who is the No. 31 overall player and No. 2 cornerback in the 2019 class, said the coaching staff looks to long-term recruits to help them add players to the class.

“They look at me to do that,” he said,

Palm Beach Central’s Brown looking for

‘home’: Dent’s teammate, three-star offensive and defensive lineman Renato Brown, is looking to find where he fits best.

The senior was previously committed to Miami but decommitted on May 21. Now he’s trying to make a decision on his future.

“I got an offer from Virginia last Friday, but I’m still looking for a home,” Brown said.

Brown holds offers from Florida, Louisville, Penn State, Pittsburgh and more.
