‘Disenfranchised Democrats’ editorial is wrong; you voted, you lost

Your editorial is bewildering. Democrats exercised their franchise:They voted. Losing may not be pleasant, but using normal English meaning, losing a vote does not mean one is now disenfranchised . This is not a One Person, One Vote, One Time country.

Similarly, Broward County has only Democrats on the County Commission. They won their respective races. Republicans are not disenfranchised as a result of those elections, although they may not feel represented.

The proper use of language in these times is important, and the Press should be especially cognizant of its ability to inflame feelings through its improper use, even if members of the public may. You have a higher duty, at least to the English language.
