Boca Raton. Boca Raton residents and companies are invited to volunteer and sponsor to transform homes. Keynote presented by Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Melvin Pollack, the POW that was detained in an adjoining cell to the late Sen. John McCain. Let Freedom Ring: A Patriotic Concert, 7:30 p.m., Coral Ridge Presbyteri­an Church, 5555 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Kick-off of the 2018-2019 Concert Series with performanc­es by guest soloists, the Coral Ridge Concert Choir and Orchestra, and youth choirs. Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, 8:15 a.m., Wellington Village Hall, 12300 Forest Hill Blvd., Wellington. Wellington and the American Legion Chris Reyka Memorial Wellington Post 390 honor current and former members of the armed forces. Veterans Day Special Lighthouse Tour, Sail times 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., noon, 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m., Alsdof Park Dock, 2850 NE 14th Street Causeway, Pompano Beach. Veterans with up to three family members can attend a self-guided Hillsboro Lighthouse tour. A current HLPS membership or a $35 per person transporta­tion fee is required. Spend the day, or an hour. Military ID or proof of service must be provided upon request.

Veterans Day Ceremony, 9:30 a.m., Veteran’s Park, 9400 W. Palmetto Park Road, Suite 2, Boca Raton. Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW, Post 10556, Boca Raton, the event will feature color guards from the following units: Marine Corps JROTC from Olympic Heights Community High School; Navy JROTC from Boca Raton Community High School; The Civil Air Patrol Boca Raton Composite Squadron; U.S. Naval Sea Cadets from Boca Raton-Delray; Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Inaugural Veterans Day Parade, 10 a.m., town of Lake Park Clock Tower, Park Avenue and Seventh Street, and heading east on Park Avenue, ending at Second Street, Lake Park. Presented by The Town of Lake Park, featuring marching bands, ROTC units, active duty military, and veterans groups from all military branches. Veterans Day Ceremony, 10 a.m., El Prado Park, 4500 El Mar Drive, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and the Volunteer Fire Department’s Color Guard will participat­e. Keynote is Bob Kuntz, past commander of the Gold Coast chapter of Disabled American Veterans in Pompano Beach. Kuntz is a retired U.S. Navy pilot and currently serves as his chapter’s chaplain and service officer. A ceremonial wreath will be placed in the ocean.
