Ariana Grande has been named Billboard’s “2018 Woman of the Year.”

The music industry publisher will present the award to the 25-year-old Boca Raton pop singer Dec. 6 at the 13th annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala in New York City.

With the honor, Grande joins other past honorees including Madonna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

“Certain in her convictions, she consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women,’’ said Ross Scarano, Billboard’s vice president of content. “She’s got guts, she’s making some of the best music of her career, and she’s absolutely deserving of Woman of the Year.”

On Twitter, Grande thanked Billboard for the honor.

Her latest album, Sweetener, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart last summer. Her top singles included “No Tears Left To Cry’’ and “God Is A Woman.”

She also helped organize the One Love Manchester concert to raise money for the victims of the May 2017 Manchester bombing at her concert.

In addition to her music accolades, Grande also made headlines for her high-profile engagement to “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson. After a summer of social media posts , tattoos, and TV appearances celebrating their engagement, the couple called it quits in October. More recently, Grande released a new single, called “thank u” which references her ex-boyfriends including Mac Miller who died of an drug overdose last month.

Grande was scheduled to perform the song on “Ellen” Wednesday.
