Metal gods Iron Maiden will perform July 18 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, the opening concert of a 33-city North American leg of the band’s Legacy of the Beast Tour.

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets will be available at the BB&T Center box office 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19.

Iron Maiden Fan Club members will have access to tickets on Tuesday, Nov. 13. For more information, visit IronMaiden.com.

The concert will be the first in South Florida since the band, which draws much of its power from drummer Nicko McBrain of Boca Raton, opened its Book of Souls World Tour to a sellout audience at the BB&T Center in 2016.

The tour supported the album of the same name that debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.

The Legacy of the Beast Tour is not inspired by an album, but rather a video game (and comic book), a trend that feels as inevitable as it is disturbing. For information on the game, IronMaidenLegacy.com.

Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson says the stage show takes its inspiration from scenes in the game, calling it “our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date.”

“We’ve got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the stage during ‘Aces High,’ tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, muskets, claymores and some truly marvelous flamethrowers, which I have a hell of a lot of fun with,” Dickinson said in announcing the North American dates. “And, of course, we have Eddie, as you’ve never seen him before.”
